February 20, 2011

Today was Danielle's baby shower. It was at Amy's house. They have a beautiful house. I met Michaela there because she spent the night with Harmony so Nanette just brought Michaela to the shower with them.

It was a lot of fun. It was really laid back and everyone just kind of did their own thing. There was no pressure to actually participate in any of the games, but you could if you wanted to. That was cool. There was way too much food, but it was all really good.

Danielle looked really cute in her orange top and beige capri pants. She got tons of great presents and only two duplicates.

Michaela and I really enjoyed ourselves. I'm very glad we went.

February 19, 2011

It was a very busy day for us today. Both kids had things going on.

We had to be at the Y by about 11:30 this morning so Michaela would be ready for warm ups for her swim meet. Warm ups started at noon.

Caleb had a basketball game at the Y today, too. His game started at 1:15. When I went to take pictures of his game, I realized I did not have my card in my camera. So, Karen took me to Office Depot to buy another one. On the way Stacey called me to ask me to get hot dog buns while we were out, so we also went to Shop and Save.

I got back in time to see some of Caleb's game and take a few pictures. I missed Michaela's first swim. That kind of upset me. But, we moved on.

Caleb's game was over at around 2:00 p.m. His team won again. It was 18 -11 this time. They didn't do as well this week though. I think they are getting a little over confident. There are some things I'm sure the coach is going to have to work on with them.

In one of Michaela's events she ended up swimming with the boys. And, although her time will not be counted this way, she beat the heck out of the boys!!! Wooo Hooo!!!!

The meet ran late so I didn't get to work out like I had intended. I had to come home with Michael and Caleb when Caleb came to get his stuff to spend the night with Chase. I packed a bag for Michaela and went back to the Y. There was a team parent meeting while the kids had swim practice after the meet.

Michaela went home with Harmony to spend the night. They will meet me at the baby shower tomorrow. So, Michael and I were alone tonight. We went to Trailhead and had to wait over an hour for a table. There was a party of 40 there that took over the whole upstairs dining area.

We didn't leave the restaurant until after 9:00 p.m. So, the day is now over and there are no kids in the house. I don't like not having anyone to tuck in, but I do like having some time alone with my husband.

February 18, 2011

I stayed home from work today. Both kids were home, too. I got up when Michael went to work. I took our bed apart and started cleaning. I got my book shelf rearranged. I managed to reduce the under the bed debris to the rolling storage bin and a stack of papers that are Michael's.

The delivery men were here before 10:00 a.m. Our bed is now much taller and Michael doesn't like it tall, but I do. I love it. It is SO MUCH MORE comfortable than the old one. When I lay on my back I do not feel like my back is bowed up. It is even supporting under my ankles. I can even lay on my stomach comfortably. Now, if I could just get my RLS to calm down. It's been driving me crazy lately.

I did Wal-mart shopping today, too. The kids rode their bikes up to the school and played up there for a while and I managed to get about four loads of laundry done. Most of it was towels and bedding, but it had to be done just as much as the clothes need to be done.

The weather was AMAZING again today. I hope it stays like this until summer, now. I cannot wait until summer. The kids and I both get out on May 27th this year because of the snow days and the way my district is handling them. So, with weekends included I have 97 days until summer break.

Tonight I helped set up the tables for the concessions for tomorrow's swim meet. It's our last home swim meet of the year. It's Michaela's last regular meet for this year. She has districts the first weekend in March. If she qualifies there she could end up going to state, too. We'll see.

We took the kids to R.T. Weiler's. We tried to go to Applebee's but they were packed to the door and spilling outside. I ordered the artichoke spinach dip at R.T. Weiler's but it is not as good as Applebee's. Tonight we get to sleep in our new bed for the first time.

February 17, 2011

Tonight I worked out for 45 minutes. When Caleb started his basketball practice, I went up on the track. I managed to do my walking work out for about 25 minutes. Then, I went to the weight room. I rode the stationary bike for about 20 minutes. I figured out a way a like to do a workout on that. I'm starting with the lowest setting for a few minutes. Then, I go up to about 7 (not the highest yet) and reduce the level one notch every minute. Then, I do the lowest setting for at least two more minutes. I will build this up a little more as I can.

I felt really good after it all was over. However, it was VERY HOT in all parts of the Y tonight so I was very sweaty. I was very glad to get home and take a shower.

I guess we really are a Y family. Caleb at basketball practice, me working out and Michaela having swim practice all in the same evening. Cool.

February 16, 2011

I found an app for my phone today that will count down the days until summer break. It includes the weekends and days off (what days off???) so there are 99 days left until summer break. At least it's under 100. I think this is going to be the longest end of winter/spring ever.

February 15, 2011

I worked out tonight at the Y. I did about 35 minutes on the stationary bike. I wish I could find a way to work out on that and not get totally bored.

Just three more days until our new bed is delivered. I cannot wait!!!

Happy Valentine's Day! I got a wonderful card from my husband today. It was perfect. I love him so much. He didn't get home until after 6:00 so we ended up going to O'Charley's for supper. Not quite as good as the steak house, but at least we were together. That's the most important thing. I am so very lucky. I have the best husband in the world.

The kids each got a t-shirt, a small stuffed dog, some candy and a $25 gift card to Wal-mart. I think they were very happy with that. It was a good Valentine's Day.

February 13, 2011

We went to church this morning. Then, after wards we went out to eat with Michael's parents. It was a belated birthday dinner for Caleb. It was a nice dinner. I like it when we go out with them. It's always a good conversation.

I spent most of the afternoon doing laundry. Other than that it's been a pretty uneventful day.

February 12, 2011

Michael went to the wood show with his dad and Griff today. Caleb had a basketball game and while we were there, my mom came to get Michaela to spend some time with her. They were going to go pick out a pattern and material to do some sewing. After Caleb's game he and I got some Arby's and then I took him to Chase's house for a while.

Then, I went and did some shopping. I went to Sam's and Wal-mart. By the time I was finished I thought I would have about an hour to myself. But, Michael was already home.

Caleb came home around 5:00. Then, we went up to my mom's to get Michaela. We headed out to The Bedroom Store. We spent about an hour there picking out a mattress. This is our Valentine's Day Gift. We ordered a new pillow top mattress. The pillow top is actually a miniature inner spring mattress on top of the big inner spring mattress. It was very comfortable. The salesman was extremely helpful. It is to be delivered on Friday.

Then, we went to eat at Red Robin, YUM! It's been a full day, but a really good day.

February 10, 2011

I did not go to work today. I took a personal day so I could go to the doctor about my blood pressure. In the last month is has been up. At one point it was 165/105. It is really scaring me. They took my blood pressure in my left arm and it was normal, but in my right arm it was still up today. He gave me a script for a water pill to flush the sodium out of my system. Then, sent me off to have chest x-rays and blood work up. Of course this cannot be done in the same place. So, I headed to the hospital and got my chest x-ray. Then, I went to the lab and got my blood drawn. They took three vials and I am sure he bruised me.

I spent the rest of the day doing a little laundry and just relaxing. It was nice to have some time to myself.

Tonight, Michaela and I went to Hardin for her tour. They were doing this for all the kids that will be in 7th grade next year. Gosh, is that building WAY different than it was when I went there. When they added on and renovated they really made the school A WHOLE LOT bigger. I was very lost and could not get my equilibrium. But it was cool to walk around with her and see her get excited about going there next year.

I am so glad it is Friday. It's been the week from hell.

February 9, 2011

I don't think this week could get any worse. I really wonder what motivates some people. I just cannot believe the things that are going on at work. There are some very messed up people in this world and they seem to be concentrated in my school building this year. There is so much wrong going on with people who are supposed to be leaders, I just have lost all faith in anyone that is admin level.

February 8, 2011

Today one of my team mates was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. She was having severe chest pains and pains in her arm and her back. The EMT's hooked her up to an i.v. right away. They seemed very concerned about her condition. I called her friend for her on her cell phone and made sure she had her coat and purse. I am very worried about her. It was a very scary afternoon. Then, we had to stay for staff/collaboration meeting. It was close to impossible to concentrate on that.
