Tonight was the Christmas Party at Little Guppy. We've been to this most years. I think last year was the only year we did not go. This year the KG'ers performed at the party. They had a little stage to stand on and they sang three songs. The last song they invited all the kids to come up on stage and sing with them. Of course Michaela loved this. She's such a ham. Both my kids are hams. Wonder where they got that from.
They had the Santa thing a lot more organized this year, too. It used to be, Santa would come into the big room and all the kids were to sit on the floor and then they'd call them up by family. This meant that you basically had to sit there and watch all the kids take their turn until it was your child's turn. This year each family got a number. Santa was in the toddler classroom. They called numbers in batches of ten and when your number was called you went to the room where Santa was so your kids could have their time with him. Somehow we got lucky and got #7 so we were in the first group of 10. It really worked a lot better.
They had other stuff going on, too. The KG room had a station set up for the kids to decorate sugar cookies and then eat them. The 3 year old room had a craft station. This was just stickers to build your own ginger bread men. It was cute. And, one of the 2 year old rooms had a station where kids could get Christmas tattoos. I have a feeling this was easier and less messy than face painting which they usually do.
The KG'ers did great singing. It was fun to watch. Caleb thought he was all that up on stage. He's just growing up so fast. I know I say that all the time but I'm beyond awed by how fast this is all happening. But, it was his night tonight and he just reveled in it. It was a good night.
