A year ago today I got to stay home from work for a snow day because a really bad ice storm had hit our area. We went without power for about 4 days after that. We spent a lot of time downstairs in front of the fire place. We also bought a large kerosene heater.
Today, however, I spent a lot of time just hanging out with my kids. We did our usual Saturday run to Walmart. We also went to the bank and post office.
Michaela got her Christmas dress at Target. It's beautiful. It's black velvet on top and gold sparkly lame on the bottom. It's sleeveless so we also got her a little crop black velvet jacket to go over it. The jacket also has a furry collar. She looks so grown up in it. We also got her sparkly tights. We just need to find her some dress shoes. Target had only one pair in her size and they had a 2 inch heal on them. I think NOT! That's a bit much for an 8 year old.
Caleb got his first suit from Walmart. It's black with pin stripes. It came with the pants and jacket. We also got him a white button down shirt that came with a blue tie. I'm going to try and find him a red Christmas themed tie to wear on Christmas. He'll be able to wear the suit all winter, though. My little boy is growing up. He looks like such a little man in that suit.
Tonight we went to Panteras for supper. YUM! The kids barely ate. I don't know what it is with my kids but it's like pulling teeth to get them to eat.
After we ate, Michael took us out to the new building his work will be moving into. It's about a 45 minute drive from home now. I hate that they are moving out there. They are still working on putting up walls and moving pipes and electric wires and things like that. I don't know how they are going to be able to be operating in that new place by th 17th.
