Wow, where did the weekend go? This morning Michael went to work again. The kids and I got lazy about going to church and stayed home. We ran to Wal-Mart to get thank you gifts for her cheer-leading coaches and a couple other things we forgot to get yesterday.
After lunch Michaela took a shower and Caleb took a bath. I did laundry around all of this and cleaned up the kitchen. I also put the thank you gifts in the bags and sorted out the pictures I managed to get developed from this season into envelopes for each girl's parents.
It was 3:00 before I knew it and we all started getting ready. Michael did not get home until almost 3:30. He took a very quick shower and got ready. We managed to get to the banquet for the cheerleaders and football players on time.
It lasted about 3 hours. The kids got trophies to commemorate the season. They gave the football players hooded sweatshirts with their names on the hoods. They gave the cheerleaders zip up hooded sweatshirts with their names on the upper left chest part.
Then, we ate. The food was good. They had salad and raw vegetables, rolls with butter, steamed green beans, mashed potatoes, pasta, chicken pasta, roast beef and cole slaw. Both, Michaela and Caleb ate quite a bit.
I was very proud of how well Caleb sat through it all. They showed a fairly long video about sports before we ate. Then, they showed a long video about the cheerleaders before they got their trophies. And, finally, they showed a long video about the football players before giving them their trophies. The coaches got small trophies too. It was a good time.
When we got home, the kids got into their p.j.'s and played. They got some popcorn a little bit before bedtime, too. Michael worked on cleaning up the dining room. I cleaned up the basement and finished laundry around that.
Now, it's time for bed already. I hope the next two days go by as fast as the last two went by. I'm ready for my Thanksgiving holiday.
